Max being Max

Today we were walking our dogs and Max says to Henry and I
Max: "So Mr. Bath was letting us listen to music today in class."
Me: "Oh that's nice of him"
Max: "Yeah, it's weird though he plays it on, you know those old fashioned CD's?"
Me: "Huh?"
Max: "You know those big BLACK old fashioned CD's that play on the outside of the CD player?!"
Me "You mean records?!?"
Yeah that's right my offspring called records "old fashioned CD's"

I want.... no I need..

So for those of you who really know me know how when something is on my mind I get a little obsessed and how I do kooky things like see a picture in a magazine and paint 1/2 the rooms in my house different shades of pink. But my true love in home decor has always been the Swedish design style known as Gustavian. It's the perfect mix of glamour and a lived in comfort, in my humble opinion, and a Mora clock is one of my all time favorite pieces of furniture and I really want one! Aren't they beautiful?! My little family on Christmas

This was the only picture of the three of us on Christmas. I've got to remember to take more photos in 2010!

My little house at Christmas time

In the spirit of catching up my blog I thought I would add pictures of our home all gussied up for Christmas. I hate January.

Maxbot

We went to dinner a couple of nights ago and Maxwell excused himself from the table to wash his hands. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him walking back to our table and all I could think was "Who is is giant approaching our table?!" What happened to my baby? The answer of course is he is growing into a wonderful young man and has come upon that time on that journey where he is all limbs and big feet. Also please excuse the weird sideways phone pic nothing would cooperate with me today!

How lame am I that I'm posting Halloween pics in January?

So since I'm playing catch up on my blog I figured that I shouldn't leave out my favorite holiday! Plus I know I'm a little biased but how funny is Max that he dressed up as my dad?! He said he would only dress up as Papa Lon or Master Chief. So I guess this week is Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years at least on my blog. Also just putting it out there am I the only one with their Christmas tree still up? It makes me so sad to take it down. So I've decided its no longer a Christmas tree it's a "Winter Tree"

Did I mention that I turned 3-0?!?!?

So..you may be asking yourself what (other than having her hubby inject her with hormones that made her want to inflict bodily harm on those around her) has this girl been up to?! Well I had my 30th birthday in October. It was wonderful. To all of my 28-29 year old friends I swear it's nothing to stress about! My wonderful husband really came through he sent me beautiful flowers, threw me an awesome party (with help from my friends and Mommy), and gave me perfect, heart stopping diamond solitaire earrings! My party was just what I wanted. It was small and held at my moms newly remodeled home, we had dinner brought in from Henry's restaurant so our guest chowed down on homemade pot stickers, egg rolls, walnut shrimp, spicy generals chicken and salad with ginger dressing and fried won ton skins. The cocktail served up was my favorite (I like to call it the Amber) orange San Pellegrino and orange gray goose (yummy) and there was pink lots of pink. Pink flowers, pink balloons, a pink candy bar and pink drinks. Another thing that made it really special was Henry had my doggy's there ( he even put big pink bows in Molly's ears- I wish I had a picture of that!) Someone did snap a pic of my lovely pup Wil in my lap about to give me a smooch! Max was as always the life of the party! We didn't notice until we got home that we didn't take any pictures together! Then the next day my dear friend Amanda (who also got my cute Alice in Wonderland cake) had arranged for some of the girls to get together for a tea party birthday luncheon at the Beehive Tea Room. Have you been there? It's so charming! We had a private room, yummy food and drink and laughed a lot!

Back... in 2010

Hi! I haven't blogged in so long! I kept meaning to sit down, upload some pics and just jot down some little quip but to be honest I just haven't felt up to it. It also doesn't feel completely comfortable yet. 2009 was not my best year but I'm still grateful for so many things. I guess you have to change your thinking to have a different dream for your life. We haven't completely given up on having a baby but have decided to put it on hold... no more doctors, shots or disappointments for a while. So I'm back in 2010. Free to be myself, to be just Maxwell's mom (a title I'm very proud of), to be Henry's wife, hopefully a good friend, a better daughter and sister, dog mom and overall better person. So....happy New Year!
